Protect your guinea pig from the heat!

The summer heat takes its toll not only on people, but also on our pets.

Most guinea pigs enjoy the coolness of their homes, but if they have a place outside, heatstroke can certainly affect them too.

The hottest period is mostly between 11 am and 3 pm. This means that we should not put our piglets in a sunny place or provide them with a cool place. Provide him with fluids.

In the heat, not only we enjoy the effect of the air conditioner, but also the guinea pig, but in its absence, even a fan will do. Of course, it must be placed at a safe distance and care must also be taken that the air does not constantly reach the rodent.

If this does not happen, heat stroke may occur.

A guinea pig that is constantly lying down and panting shows signs of heat stroke. In this case, even a lukewarm bath can help reduce body temperature. Protect from drafts after bathing.
