Love blinds us and so we don’t always see it most clearly. But how stupid ?!
Guinea pigs are sweet little rodents that are also popular with pets. We don’t love them because of their cleverness, however, a study drew attention to the oddity.
We would think that a piggy would not be happy, so they are often taken home in pairs. Research has shown that, in fact, a guinea pig kept alone is smarter, while their mates in the pair go awry.
Various studies have shown that rodents who live with their opposite-sex counterparts performed worse than those who live alone. This may be due to the fact that social coexistence can be more stressful and this is reflected in performance. The question is, would you prefer to be in the company of a guinea pig, or would you rather stay smart?
