Spring break is approaching, which also coincides with Easter. This period should not be about watering now, nor should it be about gifting animals.
Due to the coronavirus epidemic, it looks like this year’s Easter will be home-grown. You probably can’t travel, sprinkle, wait for guests. One is looking for stimuli, and this is even more true now than ever before. Driving it into our home makes it even more difficult to restrain.
Animal advocates call on the public every spring to refrain from buying cute chicks and bunnies, yet there are hasty actors who buy live animals as gifts without being convinced there is a need for them.
An irresponsible gift or purchase can even cost an animal's life.
Restrictions have removed many from their family members and this kind of loneliness can take over. Although the number of adoptions has increased, animal rights activists have found last summer that as soon as life has returned to normal, some of the animals have returned to the shelter. I want to avoid this right now and they are asking people not to buy, to give as gifts to an animal living for Easter.
