Crying, suffering bats in Miskolc

Everyone escapes the cold, who knows how. Nature has calmed down and many animals have bowed their heads to winter sleep.

We retreat to our heated home in the winter. At this point, the bats no longer move, but try to survive the cold in a place deemed safe. This was also tried by the skin mice who settled under the cover of a building in Miskolc from the cold. But the cover was torn down from them, which also meant the death sentence of the bats.

It was then that the Mályi Bird Rescue Station was notified. Arriving at the scene, no people were found in the area, but they did die or were just suffering from a crying bat. The bird rescuers informed the staff of the Bükk National Park as well as the police, who helped to collect the bats. In vain did help arrive, unfortunately nearly 30 bats were still killed, but another 60 specimens could be transported to a natural habitat where they could continue their winter sleep.
