In the United States, offspring of an unusual lizard breed were born and not in any way.
For most living things, both the paternal and maternal cells are needed for a new life to emerge. However, a Komodo dragon female living in an American zoo solved this on its own. She was fertilized by virgin breeding, that is, in a way that did not require the father’s involvement.
In the case of vertebrates, this breeding potential is very rare, and the Komodo dragon is one of the species capable of doing so. This is not to say that she is unable to reproduce sexually, but in the absence of a better, virgin reproduction can help the species survive. Three dragon lizards were born, each male.
