Why would someone steal an animal? Maybe because of his breed? Maybe because of its uniqueness and value? There can be several motivations.
However, we can't even imagine who would want to steal an alligator? A reptile was stolen, but it all happened 20 years ago.
When the theft happened, Tewa - that's the name of the alligator - was either in an egg, or possibly even cuter as a newly hatched baby. He probably lived in a civilian house for a few years, and then because the owner (or the person who stole it) didn't have the proper permits, Tewa was confiscated from him.
Thanks to this, he was able to return to the zoo from which he was stolen at the time. He lived his life alone, but now it seems that even after all this time he was able to adapt to his peers and to his new residence in the zoo.
