Plastic waste can also be found in almost untouched parts of the world. We covered the whole earth with it.
Microplastic, but even larger pieces of plastic, can enter the body of animals. This is also evidenced by the finds in animal carcasses. Recently, a free-living soup turtle got into trouble because of the plastic. He almost died of a plastic bag sticking out of his cloaca.
The animal was found in Thailand so that he could barely walk. Had the animal not been treated by animal rights activists, it would have perished in agony. After the bag was removed, the turtle was released, giving back not only its life but also its ability to reproduce, as the cloaca is suitable for that as well.
