Sound and light pollution know that it has an impact on wildlife and that impact is most negative, but we would think that marine life is protected from it.
Maybe we think of this because there is the incomprehensibly large amount of water in which marine animals live. Enough to deal with the harmful effects of environmental pollution on the animals living there, at least sound pollution does not affect their lives.
Well, that's not true at all. Underwater noise is equally present in the lives of the animals that live there and most of it is the result of human activity. Oil drills, boats and other human activity disturb whales and dolphins. This is especially true for species that are informed by sound.
This is a global problem that cannot stay that way if we do not want these animals to become extinct, which is why scientists are urging scientists to work out rules for measuring and managing ocean noise.
