But water is the master. Oh, and the turtles. Bathers in one part of Croatia have learned all this for life.
When we plan a beach vacation, we expect a lot, but not really aggressive turtles. Not just because we have an image of these armored men. The slow-moving and therefore pious animals, perhaps incapable of attack, have now been painted a different picture.
On the island of Ciovo, vacationers were bathing and enjoying the sea water when a young woman and then a man were bitten by a turtle. According to the man, he could barely escape from the aggressive animal. The woman was not so lucky. He was bitten on the back by the armored man in such a way that he had to be taken to the hospital and the nasty wound had to be stitched up.
Experts believe that loggerhead turtles may have attacked the bathers and that the animals most likely felt fear, which is why they defended themselves by biting.
