One way of smuggling animals was discovered at the Liszt Ferenc International Airport. They wanted to smuggle spotted salamanders into Germany.
Nearly a hundred spotted salamanders were seized at the airport. The protected animals were found during a search of the packages. The shipment would have contained toys in paper form, but salamanders were found instead. This was shown by the X-ray image. There was no doubt that these animals were in trouble and who wanted to smuggle them out. The destination would have been Germany, but so they were protected by the Capital Zoo and Botanical Garden.
This is also only a temporary winter accommodation for animals that are already migrating for winter rest. Man has interfered in this natural process. They create a winter for them at the zoo and want to release the animals in the spring.
NAV has filed a complaint for a crime of natural damage.
