You already have one, but do you want another dog?

Do you already have a dog, but thought it might be time to get a companion for your existing one? Every owner already knows that having a dog means committing himself for quite a few years, and that more dogs demand even greater responsibility.

If we have an idea that we want a canine companion for our existing dog, then we also see with our mind's eye what kind of frolics they will have together in the garden and sleep together. However, the road to the intimate idea may be bumpy.

The relationship between the long-standing dog and the new four-legged family member may not immediately become idyllic.

It doesn't hurt if we have as many kennels and lockable places as there are dogs, so in case of anger or when a stranger arrives, each animal can be locked, so that getting used to each other can go more smoothly.

The easiest thing for us is when the existing dog is able to go to its place on command and stay there. The only thing more ideal than this is if the newly arrived dog is also able to do this and after we show him his new place, he occupies it.

The existing pet is already familiar with the agenda introduced by us, and if the new pet learns this, it gives them both security.

We don't need a new dog with our existing dog because our relationship is unstable. This certainly won't fix the situation. An unstable dog should not be accompanied by a companion. If so, choose an animal as a companion that is the same size as the other, and has a calm and peaceful nature. No matter how many dogs we have, they need us to devote time to them individually.
