It's not too cold outside yet, but it can be cold enough for our dogs to catch a cold, so it's time to winterize the doghouse.
It's time to prepare our dogs for the winter days. If he can't go into a closed place or into your home, then you must provide him with a shelter that protects him from minuses.
If you want to be sure, raise the house. In other words, it is important that it is directly on the ground, but put bricks or possibly pallets under it. This way, the bottom of the doghouse will not be frozen.
Insulate the bottom and walls with Styrofoam. Make sure that the insulation is big enough for your dog to fit comfortably inside the house.
The extra insulating layer should not be rags, because they get wet and it is not pleasant to lie on a cold and wet floor. The best and most natural solution is straw.
Also make sure it has a door. It is not advisable to use textile for this, because it gets wet and cools down, which would not only provide warmth, but also cool the lead. If you are still thinking about textiles, then you need to change them more often.
Take care of your dog in extreme cold and provide him with a place in the garage or the boiler room.
