During the walk we can meet not only people but also other dogs. It is also necessary to ask each other whether the dogs should sniff.

We also let our puppy on the leash only towards the dogs inside the fence, and on a short leash we can pull our own dog if needed.

Likewise, a short leash should apply when there are more passers-by. Don't let him jump on others. Not only because it can be dirty on the passerby's clothes, it can cause fear in it. Everyone reacts differently to dogs, even friendly ones.
