Many people are afraid of becoming dementia in their old age. Old age dementia does exist and they already know that it affects not only humans but also dogs. It is also the case in dogs that the beta-amyloid 42 peptide accumulates in the brain.

In dogs, too, they wondered whether the amount of this peptide was related to the dog’s age, mental state, and research had shown a link to the age of the puppies and a higher proportion of beta-amyloid 42 peptide.

The dogs involved in the experiment can help make Alzheimer’s disease treatable or even preventable.
