Dogs do so much to help humans, why not help them detect the coronavirus?
Dogs famous for their excellent sense of smell are also used to search for drugs, bombs, missing persons. With the advent of the coronavirus, the idea also arose that the smell of dogs could be used. At Finland's airport, 16 dogs have already been recruited that can detect the scent of the virus, so they can screen out people who carry the coronavirus.
Dogs trained to detect the coronavirus are able to work with one hundred percent results, and small amounts seem to be able to find individuals infected with the virus. This requires those arriving at the airport to wipe their skin with a cloth, the dog sniffs it, and if infected, the animal signals it.
