We live in a world of home office and telecommuting, but not all jobs can be done from home.
Doctors, pharmacists, shopkeepers, and office workers also perform their duties in accordance with restrictions and rules.
Training guide dogs is a job that we assume will only lead to personal encounters and training to allow well-trained guide dogs to accompany blind and visually impaired people.
It is known that the training of a guide dog is a long and expensive process, but now a special and changed situation has emerged, to which the trainers of the Bernáthegy Guide Dog School have also adapted. Trainers for guide dogs now work from home. This means that the trainers practice stepping with the dogs, signaling the difference in level, and avoiding obstacles in their own homes and gardens.
Every day spent without training is a big dropout, so it’s important to keep working. The trainers take great care to maintain their own integrity, and after each outdoor movement, the puppies are also wiped with a damp cloth and their paws are washed.
