Wild horses were observed with drones

There is no field of science where new technology does not knock. Or they just break in through the door, but they can undoubtedly help us.

Hortobágy is a landscape known to all Hungarians. Perhaps fewer people know that there is an area in the Hortobágy National Park called Pentezug. Its specialty is that Przewalski's wild horses live here. It is a wild horse reserve that enjoys special attention and protection. The society of the horses living here is fragmented and complex, and technology has now been involved in its exploration.

This means that the movements of studs living in a complex society were tracked with drones. The data and information obtained in this way were published in a specialist journal and highlighted how important even one such mapping can be in better understanding the life of wild horses. This also revealed that the movement within the group is really coordinated, that is, it aligns with each other. An interesting finding is that the comparison with data from two decades ago resulted in the fact that they were able to trace the origin of individuals and that social relations are related to kinship threads. Origin also plays a significant role in the development of a stud.
