Several sectors of the economy are very much affected by the constraints caused by the coronavirus epidemic. Tourism and hospitality are one of the main victims, but animal shelters and zoos also suffer.
The Private Zoo, operated in Felsőlajos, for example, is already in such a hopeless situation that they need outside help to survive. An institution that is closed under restrictions is in trouble because much of their revenue came from the purchase of tickets redeemed at entry, from which they now completely lose. The Private Zoo is in such a crisis that they are already on the verge of bankruptcy.
To prevent the worst from happening, they sold more of everything, so they sold more animals and machinery. The monthly maintenance cost of the private zoo is 5 million. And the locals do their best not to have to close it permanently, so they have already collected three months of expenses, but they can only pull it out until Easter. The power of those who want to help is still immeasurable, as kindergartens and schools came together, children offered their pocket money.
