All new animals born in the zoo are welcome, but the September 26th event was even more sensational.
The Nyíregyháza Zoological Park can tell itself that their institution was the birthplace of Hungary's first armored rhinoceros. His mother, Jasmin, has been living in the Hungarian Zoo since 2010, 10 years old. His little father is 14-year-old Hans. Hans arrived in Nyíregyháza in 2006.
Not only does it boast of the zoo being born with Indian armored rhinoceros for the first time, but they also have the highest number of this special and unfortunately very rare animal species.
After nearly one and a half years of gestation, Jasmin was born, and the calf was born without problems, and since then several weeks have passed, the little experts watch out. It is no coincidence, because it required a lot of preparation for this miracle to happen. Rhinoceroses rarely proliferate in an artificial environment. Veterinarians, caregivers had to work together to bring the little bull into the world.
