The Pécs Zoo expanded in every way

The number of residents of the Pécs Zoo increased by two. The community also plays a big role in making this happen.

The increase is not due to reproduction, but the result of the red panda species rescue and joining its breeding program, that the institution was enriched with two red pandas.

This is a nice achievement, but it took a runway that couldn’t have come about. As a result of community funding, the catwalk runway was built. The siblings born last summer are all females.

The coronavirus epidemic made it difficult for all zoos to survive, and the Pécs facility would not have been able to run the pandas if the local community did not support the institution with more or less money.
