The oldest European chimpanzee is gone

Chimpanzees are primates, meaning they are very similar to humans. The oldest in Europe has unfortunately left the ranks of the living.

Jonny was the head of the chimpanzee team at the German Zoo, which was also the oldest of the European chimpanzees. That's why he was one of the zoo's most popular residents. All of this had only been true until now, when Jonny closed his eyes to an eternal dream these days. Jonny had been replaced for some time by Jimmy, the other boss, but Jonny still understood the language of his peers, so he handled conflicts within the team quickly and well.

Jonny would have turned 61 in April. Although they live in captivity for a longer period of time, they are roughly 45-55 years old (in nature, this age is 30-35 years old), but this primate is well above that age.
