Animals kept under artificial conditions generally live longer than wild animals. Paula also survived well with her free-living companions.
Paula, the two-fingered sloth lady, was a resident of the German zoo. There is no exact record of his birth, but what is certain is that when he arrived at the zoo in 1971, he was already an adult, about 2 years old.
The whole world could get to know the female, as she was even included in the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest sloth in the world.
Unfortunately, however, he became increasingly ill due to his age. If an animal does not want to eat, it always suggests great trouble. Then one day Paula no longer finally accepted the food and the vet decided on a merciful death.
