A war is cruel, always requiring sacrifices and mostly innocent. There are also animals among those fleeing Ukraine.
We have already said that after the outbreak of the war, panic overwhelmed the people there and they were forced to flee. But the inhabitants of a zoo can't just be evacuated, let alone four thousand. And so many animals live in the Kiev zoo. Since they could not be evacuated , the caregivers moved into the zoo and persevere with their protégés.
A white-haired silk monkey has already found a new home in the Nyíregyháza Zoo in Hungary. Although the ancestor was not a former resident of the Kiev institution, a Ukrainian family asked the zoo to accommodate their pet. This is how Kátya, the silk monkey, got into a new place and safe. The little animal is still in quarantine, has been visited by a veterinarian and will hopefully feel as good in the Hungarian institution as his appetite.
