Successful reproduction in zoos is important not only for zoos, but also for the world, especially when it comes to endangered species.
The Czech Republic Zoo is one of the most successful colonies of narrow-necked rhinos. Thanks to breeding programs, the main goal would be not to endanger endangered species, including narrow-necked rhinoceros.
Three rhinoceros from the Czech zoo, and 1 to 1 rhino from Denmark and England are expected to be moved to Africa in May next year.
The transport of two males and three females from Europe to Africa will be the largest rhinoceros migration ever. The end of the big trip will be Rwanda, where these animals were almost completely destroyed in the 1990s. There are 18 rhinoceros in Ruadna, but they did not have to travel so far since they moved from the Republic of South Africa. The five European copies will join them in May. Rhinoceros will live in the territory of a national park where armed guards watch over the integrity of the animals.
The five European narrow-gauge rhinoceros will be a gift for Rwanda, as they take the travel costs to the Czech zoo, but they are also looking for sponsors.
Until then, there are not only a lot of time, but many tasks. The staff of the Czech zoo have initiated the move of the animals and they will also help prepare for the relocation. Danish and British rhino are transported to the Czech zoo.
