If you are looking for a family-run weekend program, it is definitely the place to be in the Metropolitan Animal and Plant Garden.
Although the Earth Day is celebrated on April 22 each year, visitors are expected to see the Budapest Zoo from today, ie Friday, as the Earth Festival program runs from Friday to Sunday.
These days, of course, the zoo's inhabitants can be seen in the same way, but everybody who visits the zoo can enjoy much more experience.
In the framework of the Earth Festival, we can get rich knowledge and practice. Beyond the zoo's caregivers, other professionals from other institutions are also trying to get more out of it. There will be representatives of the Institute of Soil Science and Agrochemistry of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian Soil Society, the Directorate of the Danube-Ipoly National Park, the Environmental Education Association, and the FÖRI watchdog. With the help of professionals, we can gain a wealth of new knowledge about animal life, nature conservation and waste recovery.
Within the framework of the Earth Festival, we can be part of the 30th anniversary of the joint life of Golo and Liesel gorilla pairs.
For families with small children, the weekend program can be excellent as they are offered special programs.
