Dozens of elephants perished in Zimbabwe, but exceptionally non-poachers slaughtered the animals.
Unfortunately, the fact of destruction must be accepted, but the case of the destroyed elephants caused a great deal of headaches. Since each of the dead specimens had its fangs, the killing of poachers could be ruled out. A poisonous plant was suspected at first, but since then it has also been revealed that a bacterial disease caused their death.
This disease has already shown itself in southern Africa, but has not yet appeared among elephants. So far.
The disease may have been present for some time, unfortunately it also spread to 34 young or weak animals.
