Infection may be higher among cats

During the coronavirus epidemic, we not only heard about the infection in humans, but the infection also appeared among cats.

So scientists already know that cats can catch the disease, but now Chinese researchers have realized that this infection rate could be much higher than previously thought. Cats were also sampled at the outbreak of the epidemic in China, which began in January, and their results provided much more alarming data than previously thought.

During the Chinese study, they worked with cats that lived with their owners, but also included an animal hospital patient and a shelter resident. Only in a few cases could they prove that the cat was infected by its owner, but no evidence to the contrary was found.
