It was not man who first went into space, although most of the animals that have been flown into space have already been sentenced to death.
In the case of a lazy dog, they knew that the dog would not survive. Animal experiments were important for man to venture beyond the Earth's atmosphere. While Lajka and other animals were not expected to return, Félicette, the kitten, was confident that he would return to Earth intact.
It happened, even though they only made one space jump in October 1963. The black-and-white female kitten was located in the nose of the rocket and reached an altitude of 152 km. The space jump itself did not last a quarter of an hour, and the cat could enjoy the weightlessness for a few minutes.
In spite of his successful landing, he was anesthetized shortly after his landing to study his body. They were curious how the animal's body was affected by the fact that it was in space.
