We knew he was on his way, but we didn't think he'd come so early

Zoltan is on his way. Two weeks ago we wrote that the whereabouts of the black stork are already known. In addition to professionals, anyone could follow Zoltán's path.

The inhabitants of Gemenc Forest were very much awaited. Together with him, we also hope for the arrival of spring. The path of the black stork with the transmitter was traceable, yet the experts of the Őrség National Park were surprised, because the inhabitants of the Gemenc forest have never arrived so far since the records.

Professionals in the woods usually check the area at the end of the winter, so they also visit the nesting site of the storks. That day the forest was visited by the staff of the National Park when they were watching the stork circling over the forest. Looking at Zoltan's nest, it turned out that the migrating bird might have just arrived home because the nest was still intact. That is, he did not start the renovation of the nest left behind in the autumn.

In the past, black storks arrived at the end of March, but at the earliest in mid-March. However, this year Zoltán returned home very early.

They are now expecting their partner to succeed in their reproduction.
