The storks are waiting for spring in safety

Spring is really indicated by birds arriving and autumn by migratory birds. Not everyone participates in the march.

Among the storks there were always some specimens who did not keep with their companions and did not cover many tens of thousands of kilometers, but waited for spring in our country. Sick, debilitated birds in need of treatment are cared for by animal hospitals and released again in the spring if they become stronger.

The Hortobágy Bird Park has always played its part in overwintering, caring for and healing birds. They always had storks stuck in Hungary in the autumn, but this year it is much more than average. The goal is to strengthen and heal the birds so that they can join their peers coming home from Africa in the spring.
