The mirror can become an enemy

Their own reflection can be dangerous to birds. MME, the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Association, drew attention to this.

Spring is a time of love. Not only we humans gain strength and are struck by the “wind” of spring with all its positive feelings, but also the birds. In the breeding season, the struggle for the favors of the hens begins.

Not only the sight of the other male is irritating in the birds, but even the reflection. Year after year, unnecessary birds that fight with themselves, fight with their own images in the rearview mirror of cars, and are therefore injured and fought off, are a problem. They can besiege the car mirror for days. To avoid such cases, motorists are asked to fold in or at least cover the exterior mirrors if possible. There is no reflective surface in nature, but the artificial environment can seriously “joke” on them.
