An injured bird of prey caught in the Danube-Drava National Park was found in the vicinity of Drávaszentes.
Her plumage was disheveled, and the doctors found a foot ulcer on her feet. Healing a plantar ulcer is a long process that can also be cured with surgery. In order to make the recovery of the otter as successful as possible, it was delivered by the Hortobágy Bird Hospital. Surgery itself is risky due to long anesthesia, but recovery also promises to be long.
The protector of the Hortobágy institution is already past the first operation, after the recovery, the bird is waiting for surgery on the other part of the sole. The eagle also receives special “slippers” to prevent injury to its feet, but also to ventilate the wound and prevent infection.
