The world is changing and so is everything else. Even the owls.
Well, it is not in their appearance that this change is reflected, but in their habits. Everyone knows that chimneys and light poles are popular nesting places. We wait for migratory birds to return to the large nests every year. This was also the case this year.
This time, however, it was not white storks that appeared in the stork's nest, but forest owls.
The predatory bird species, which is very common in Hungary, does not build its own nest, but moves to the nests of other species with preference. This was the case again.
In the Danube-Drava National Park, storks are always invited back to their territory and this is not the first time they have spent in a freshman's nest. Two of the existing and still empty nests have been occupied by owls and are well established among their freshman neighbors.
