Saving is not so easy

A problem that has arisen for decades is that more and more animal species are on the verge of extinction. There are several factors to saving them.

Animal species are in trouble around the world. New Zealand has also tried to multiply the number of hollow lilies native there, but it has now become clear that this has failed.

Even though dozens of lilies were released on Mana Island, which is free of predators, they flew back to a place where predators waited with open arms and mostly claws. Only a few survived the dozens of lilies that had been relocated to Mana Island, but almost all of them were hunted by birds of prey.

Now, scientists have also experienced the many hardships they face when working to save an animal species. And the cave lilies would really need help because there are only less than 300 specimens living in the wild.
