Year after year, there are always fewer storks moving home despite the fact that we are very much looking forward to the birds every spring.
The empty nests also testify that last year’s resident didn’t arrive this year, perhaps it’s been an uninhabited nest for years. All this is true not only for white but also for black storks.
According to the Baranya County Register of the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Association, fewer storks moved in with one nest, but it was further aggravated by the fact that more than one pair of storks was unable to spend time. Unfortunately, this trend was already observed last year and the cool spring, hot summer did not help the black storks.
