Our swallows are black, but not all of them

Being an albino is not only special, but also somewhat difficult.

Even for albino people who stand out among people, life is more difficult. Not only because they look different, but their skin and eyes are very sensitive, and they are also more prone to diseases. This is no different in the animal world.

However, the life of albino specimens in nature is sealed. The shapes and colors characteristic of each species do not develop by chance. In many cases, it helps to hide from hunters, and in others it helps to hunt more effectively.

It happens that albino individuals are ostracized, so their chances of survival decrease even more. What will happen to the albino swallows?

Smoke swallows built a nest in one of the buildings of an institution in Jánoshalm. The story, which is not interesting in itself, turns out to be that five chicks hatched in the first nest, two of which were indeed albino. Since then, these chicks have grown up, been ringed and successfully fledged from the nest.

Since then, the chicks of the second nest have been raised and there is also a white specimen among them.
