He tried once, but then really

Anyone who owns an incubator and tries it out will sooner or later expect something to hatch from the egg.

A woman bought an incubator and to make sure the purchase was not in vain, she also bought duck eggs. He wanted to try it even before he wanted to use it in parrot breeding. From the forced relationship between the hatchery and the eggs in the store, he hoped not only that he would be able to handle the machine confidently by the time it became necessary.

He was surprised to find that four of the eggs he got from the store were developing life. Although one duckling died after hatching, three ducklings are developing nicely and follow the woman as their mother.
