Young birds that have recently left their nests can get into trouble more easily due to lack of experience and proper practice.
But even the more routine aren’t sure they’ll get away with an adventure unscathed. In recent days, this has been experienced by bird rescuers in Békés County. First, an injured stork was brought to the Szentes Bird Rescue Station. The white stork, which was visibly in poor condition, was found in Gyomaendrőd and then taken to the animal hospital, where it had to be operated on immediately.
In Békéscsaba, a woman who regularly watched a family of swans living nearby saw that the chest of one of the young hens was badly injured. The woman did not delay and called for expert help. The young swan is recovering and may return to the open soon.
Not long after, an run-over stork was taken to the Szentesi Bird Rescue, who managed to save his life.
