Years ago, we dreamed of writing about an albatross who, even though he was over sixty, was still spending. It will be about it now.
Wisdom's age is indicated by the ring that came to the bird's feet in 1956. An American biologist placed the identifier on the hen, which according to the expert was already around six years old. However, this is just a saccination, but even in the strongest estimate, Wisdom is the seventy-one hunter who has nevertheless returned to Midway Atoll and may even lay eggs. And if it does, and spends successfully, Wisdom goes beyond imagination.
Already, since years ago when we wrote about this, the world record for the old Laysan-albatross was a record number.
Wisdom is therefore considered to be 68 years old with caution, so he is the world's oldest, still reproducing free-living albatross.
