Of the kites, the brown is the better known and more common bird species in Hungary. Bezzeg is red!
That is why it is newsworthy that in Somogy county, in addition to brown kites, a couple of red ones were also discovered.
The bird species, which occurs mainly in Central Europe, is such an occasional guest in Hungary that in 2012, four specimens were counted in Hungary. In 2018, the number of red kites wintering at home exceeded 40.
